Alice Faloretti is inspired by the majesty of caves and grottos. When entering these works the viewer gets the feeling of entering a fantasy realm: a natural or simulated space that blurs the boundaries between architecture and nature. Alice enjoys exploring the Italian countryside on her hikes and walks where she captures inspiration in the form of a photo, which she then manipulates digitally on her computer. This serves as a reference for her monumental abstract landscape paintings before the oil makes its course on the canvas. Alice begins her process on a spirit-soaked canvas and allows the paint to take its course. Remaining in constant dialogue with the painting and the material the artist adapts as the landscapes spread.
