MINT is excited to present “Dance before we walk”, a duo exhibition featuring the artists Gena Milanesi (*1991) and Perrine Boudy (*1995).
“Dance before we walk” is an homage to the expressive and energetic artistic language of both artists. The title of the show serves as a metaphor for taking bold and joyful steps in their practice but still have a clear path in their artistic process.
Gena Milanesi’s paintings display a kind of cyclical rhythm. The structured, controlled chaos of her compositions double as a metaphor for nature itself. Her canvases are bursting with energy and expressiveness. The interplay of colors and the centering of the composition creates the feeling as if the colors are dancing on the canvas.
For the first time MINT is showcasing a new medium in form of ceramics. For a long time we have been looking for the perfect fit to introduce this medium to the audience in Munich.
Perrine Boudy’s wonderful body of work is largely inspired by Greco-Roman civilization and the imaginative vision she has of it.
